So I might have a...NOT so secret fetish with kareoke...I've never done it...but it stems from my MASSIVE wish that I could sing...I really really cant...no modesty here, I'm as flat as...a flat thing...AND just really cant reach any notes..WHICH is why if you're ever in my car, the music is always SUPA loud...I LOVEEEE my car time, me, loud music, and me 'singing'...fa-reak-ing...LOVE it! I loveeee music, If i got to pick any talent..as a wish...it'd be to sing...I feel mad restrictd when i try sing a song...when I cant belt it out how the singers can...especially if it's a jesus one...and the ones where I wish I could be singing to a kajillion people on stage! :) Still...I do love to sing! Makes me so so happy. :) Not sure I would ever do the kareoke...sadly, I'd probably need a couple of wines and make it VERY clear to people that I KNOW i cant sing...BUT that i'm going to pretend that I can... :)
ANYWAYYY rambleeeee.......I remember this movie Duets that I saw a few months ago...it's pretty old..but it's all about these people entering this kareoke competition (got Gwyneth Paltrow, Huey Lewis) ....but this dude when he sings this song...heck he's awesome...love his voice. Turns out it's not really his voice, I googled the real guy. :) But this end song he sings....big fan aye, in the context of the situation its really quite beautiful...but luckily the clip doesn't give anything away, just incase you watch it someday...take a look anyway. :) Black men can always sing aye, I was born in the wrong part of the world! :) (just joking jesus, nz kicks bootay).
I've watched this video so many times and STILL can't get enough. He is just the cutest lil shnook face doing this song! Jason Mraz would be proud... :)
I stumbled across this channel PlayingForChange somehow on YouTube a few days ago, and it is my absoloute favourite ever that I have found. (I have posted my three favourites so far - check them all out, love love love them ALL)
'Dont Worry'
It was an idea from a dude called Mark Johnson that thought we needed to come together as a human race, and it was through music that he thought was a good start. It started in the streets of Santa Monica in California 4years ago where he overheard a guy called Roger Ridley busking on the streets singing Stand by Me, from there Mark and his crew visited african villages, native indian reservations, subways, himalyan mountains recording musicans he found along the way. Mark said 'none of these musicans had ever met in person, it was the music that bought them together and the belief that we can do alot more for this world if we work together, than we ever could apart.
Through his recordings from all across the world, and filming these incredible amazing, beyond talented musicans that sing on the STREETS as buskers, who could sass more than half the musicians that are on our charts at the moment in a SECOND, we have these........just amazing, supa funky, absoloutely beautiful songs we can enjoy, from people across all cultures singing the same songs, i love it so much. I LOVE this.

Every person in these songs I think is just so so beautiful. Tula from Israel - SO so beautiful, Love her voice. Clarence from Netherlands, Grandpaa Elliot from Louisiana, Roger Ridley from California (where Playing for Change all started, with recording this guy - he's in the Stand by Me song, first singer, the MAN) and Sinamuva clan from South Africa - all just....yep, beautiful. (if you knew how sacred the words 'beautiful' and 'love' are too me and how rarely I use them...you'd get how much I ACTUALLY dig these people and their music. :) And the fact it's for a good cause is just the cherry on top :) Check them out.....links for the youtube channel and PlayingForChange website are at the bottom too... :)
